Death End re:Quest[]

In Death End re:Quest, Enigma Games partner up with Aggle Inc. to create World's Odyssey, a VR MMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) whose NPC's are said to be powered by the Alice Engine that Aggle created.

In Chapter 8 of the game, it is revealed that the Alice Engine is not actual Artificial Intelligence. It is said that the Alice Engine is powered by 10000 people that Aggle has kidnapped for use in their attempts to create a Luden, an AI that acts just like a human just as they claim the Alice Engine is capable of doing, in order to facilitate Aggle and Aphesis' goals of total world domination. Enigma Games' CEO Werner Glock was revealed to have been working on a prototype version of the Alice Engine during his time under Aggle, though he was unaware of their true goals at that time. After Werner left Aggle, they developed his prototype into a full scale project.

Aggle was eventually successful in creating a Luden known as Iris, they would kidnap World's Odyssey Director Shina NInomiya to help them develop it further. When Shina was killed for attempting to leave the facility, Iris rebelled against Aggle and rendered a large number of the people powering the Alice Engine braindead. In the process, Iris also created the other Ludens, who would make W.O.D. inaccessible to Aggle or Aphesis.
