Glitch Girls

The Glitch Girls in their Glitch Modes from left to Right: Huuki Hizumi, Chloe Falena, Kiki Amou, Naraku Morikubo and Lilith Yamamura

A Glitch Girl is a special type of artificial intelligence. The Glitch Girls are key figures in Death end re;Quest: Code Z, with each of them bearing the appearance of a member of Shina's party from Death end re;Quest.

History[]

Glitch Girls are a special type of Luden created by the Observer ''ARATA MIZUNASHI'', they resemble the World's Odyssey forms of the Death end re;Quest party (except Shina Ninomiya) and are created using miscellaneous data that has been gathered about the individual.

ARATA MIZUNASHI completely forces the Glitch Girls to serve under him, while most do so without question or objection, Chloe Falena expresses hints of doing so unwillingly.

Traits[]

The Glitch Girls are ferocious assassins that break through the Strain Area during gameplay, chasing Sayaka and whoever is with her through the dungeon. They are on average more powerful than the bosses of the dungeons, but they each have a weak point that can provide the player with the opportunity to either flee or defeat them outright.

During the Visual Novel sections, the Glitch Girls all resemble Shina's Party wearing different clothes. All of the Glitch Girls, excluding Chloe, have different given names but retain the surnames of their real world counterparts from Death end re;Quest. Chloe, meanwhile, is the reverse of this naming scheme, retaining her original given name while being given an entirely new surname.

The Glitch Girls all appear to be overcome by the emotion that was initially suppressed by the Buggies of Shina's party in Death end re;Quest. Their Glitch Modes appear to be the slightly censored versions of Shina's party's Glitch Modes as seen in Death end re;Quest 2.

Trivia[]

  • The Glitch Girls share a common theme, seemingly being based on myths and folktales such as Lilith Yamamura being based on Lilith, a myth in the bible stating that the first wife of Adam was actually a woman named Lilith who was kicked out of the Garden of Eden by refusing to obey and be subservient to Adam. Some interpretations also depict her as the snake that convinces Adam and Eve to consume the fruit of knowledge. Kiki Amou is based on the Kikimora from slavic mythology. Kikimora are spirits that lives in people's homes, they are said to be good or evil depending on the person living inside the home. Some say they are also the spirits of unbaptized children.
  • Chloe Falena is the only Glitch Girl to have the first name of the person they are based on, most likely due to this Chloe taking a personal interest in the original Chloe Aaron.
    • This difference in naming scheme may also suggest why she is seemingly the only Glitch Girl to serve ARATA against their will.
