Lucil Filarete is a half-elf NPC in World's Odyssey. She was cast out of the Elf Village due to her heritage and, after Ripuka slaughtered many of her kinsmen, joins the party in their quest.
History[]
Death end re;Quest[]
Lucil is first encountered in Chapter 4, while the party searches for a Terminal to reach Odyssia. The party agrees to help Lucil find her Elf's Guidance in order to gain entry to the village. Along the way, they meet Mita, Lucil's only friend among the elves. However, they arrive to find a mysterious woman slaughtering the elves. The woman introduces herself as a Luden called Ripuka and then leaves, with Lucil giving chase. The rest of the party catches up to Lucil, and together they enter a hopeless battle with Ripuka. Ripuka summons an Entoma Queen before leaving the forest.
In Chapter 6, after having met Celica Clayton, the party stumbles upon the Strain Area. There they meet Alice, Nova, and Levin, three other Ludens. The party seems willing to use the Ludens' resources, which infuriates Lucil. This is exacerbated by Lucil's angry tantrum leading the party to Heartis, where Lily Hopes wanted to go, and Lily's unwillingness to respond to Lucil's sarcastic enthusiasm. Lucil remains angry at Lily until learning that Lily's buggy suppressed Lily's ability to display anger. The two eventually make up.
In Chapter 8, the party encounters Ripuka again. After Ripuka taunts Lucil once again, she threatens to reveal her true feelings to the party. Ripuka claims that Lucil was actually happy to see the elves who bullied her be slaughtered, up to and including Mita. After Ripuka leaves, Lucil states that, while she hates Ripuka, there is some truth to Ripuka's words. The thought of the prejudiced elves dying makes her more and more joyous, eventually causing her to glitch out. The party is forced to subdue her. After the party defeats her, memories of another world flood her mind.
Svetlana Amou was a girl born to a Russian mother and Japanese father. She was orphaned at a young age, and was forced to live in a Russian church. She was mercilessly bullied for her half-Japanese heritage. On her sixteenth birthday, she left the church and moved to Japan. She took on jobs, learning the Japanese language, and lived in peace...until one day, where she was abducted by Aphesis.
Back in World's Odyssey, Lucil reveals that her chair Kimata is actually her father, cursed into that form when a spell backfired.
In Chapter 10, Lucil is seemingly killed by a brainwashed Celica Clayton, but survives thanks to Werner Glock, and returns to her real-world body. Svetlana joins the others in the real world and participates in the battle to subdue Iris.
In Lucil's ending, time has reversed to before the events of the story. Arata is in hospital after collapsing whilst talking to Sumika on the phone and was unconscious for a week and has acute meningitis. When walking around the hospital, Svetlana walks into Arata after appearing to donate a lot of blood. Arata remembers her, though she doesn't appear to remember him.
Death Ends[]
- Chaos Unhinged: If Lucil is calmed down when first meeting the Ludens, Nova will rip her in half.
- Shall we Dance?: If the party loses to Glich Lucil, she strings the party's corpses up and plays with them like marionettes. Arata, while initially horrified, soon laughs along with her.
Death end re;Quest 2[]
In chapter 4, Shina gives Mai Toyama avatars of her friends from World's Odyssey, including Lucil, which allows her to summon them in battle to fight alongside her.
In Svetlana's sub event in New Game+, it shows what happens after her ending in the first game. Svetlana, after meeting him, befriends him, and eventually Shina, and apparently either regains her memories or is told what happened by the duo.
In chapter 6, Shina is able to send a text to one of her friends about the situation going on in La Choara but loses signal before she can send it to anyone else. If Shina sends it to Svetlana, she arrives in La Choara 11 days later and approaches Mai, Rotten Dollhart, and Liliana Pinnata asking if they know Shina. The trio are surprised that someone knew who she was, though Shina arrives and explains that she was who she had sent a text to. The group realize that Svetlana was able to get into town, with Shina taking Svetlana to her home to catch up. Later that night, Shina and the trio go to the tourist area, as that is where Svetlana got in, to see if they could get out of town as everyone was stuck inside. They find they can't, though realize that cars could get through and Svetlana had arrived in a car.
In Svetlana's sub-event, exclusive to New Game+, she is talked into buying lots of sweets by a clerk and upon seeing the trio has them eat them with her. As they do so, Mai accidentally causes the laptop with the avatars on it to turn Svetlana into Lucil. Now unable to get off her chair, Kimata, since Lucil cannot get off it, she panics as she realizes she needs the toilet. Kimata tells her it's fine and to just pee on him, since he absorbs it inside himself and though she didn't want to do so, she ends up doing it anyway as she couldn't hold it in any more. Things become even more embarrassing for her, as Mai transforms her back into Svetlana seconds after she pees on him.
They plan to leave with Svetlana in the car the next day, though are unable to as Shina is murdered by Midra Dollhart and her black cloaked minions due to sneaking into the building that Midra did sacrifices in. Shina recorded this footage as she died and sent it to Svetlana, who shows it to the trio the next day. Shocked at seeing the video, the group decide they need to get revenge for Shina and Svetlana tells them not to worry as she will confront Midra with the video. She does so, and tells her to turn herself in and that if Svetlana doesn't return to Japan within a week, an investigation will be made with police and others coming to La Choara to deal with the situation meaning killing her wont stop her being arrested and tried for her crimes. She gives her one day to turn herself in and returns to her hotel room, and tells the trio they will leave the town once she has done so. Later that night however, one of Midra's minions knocks on her door with Svetlana assuming it was the trio. Instead, upon opening the door, she is stabbed by the black cloaked man and realizing she will die pulls out a bomb she had brought with her and detonates it figuring that if she is going to day she'll take her killer with her. The hotel is blown to pieces, killing them both, with everyone in town — including the trio — shocked — as they knew Svetlana was in there.
After Mai defeats Julietta Nolan, the person responsible for everything that had happened in La Choara, she uses the World's Key to reverse time to before any of the events happened and creates a World where Julietta never existed in Arata's World. Therefore, in this new version of the World, none of this happened — though Mai, Rotten, and Liliana remember the events from the previous timeline.
Death end re;Quest: Code Z[]
SPOILER WARNING |
---|
Below this point are critical plot details for a game that has yet to be officially released in North America or Europe. |
Svetlana Amou is set to reappear in Death end re;Quest: Code Z. In this game she is a talented designer who runs her own clothing store overseas. She also has a background in ''World's Odyssey'' as a character costume designer. It seems that she found it more rewarding to make ''real'' clothes than from game data, and after the development of ''World's Odyssey'' got off the ground, she returned to her home country and is no longer in Sakami City, but even though this world has changed, it's not the same as a game. Svetlana Amou herself probably thinks so too. The reason she has inherited such outstanding knowledge about the world may be because she was involved in Lucil Filarete's designs. She is a person worthy of being called a wise woman. It seems like there will be quite a bit of ups and downs in the development of ''End to Odyssey,'' as to why Sayaka will go overseas, Well, it would be boring without something like that. In a far away foreign land, Sayaka will come to visit Svetlana and have a showdown with her, although the reason for said showdown is unknown.
The glitch girl ''Kiki Amou'' is based on Lucil Filarete's game data.
Trivia[]
- Mary Skelter 2 gives Kaguya a costume based on Lucil as part of its "Death End Attire" cross-promotion. Like Lucil, Kaguya travels using a floating chair.
- Though Lucil isn't a playable unit in Mega Miracle Force, a picture of Shina hugging her is shown during the event to obtain the Christmas version of Shina.
