Martyrs are the generic enemies found within World's Odyssey in Death end re;Quest.

Death end re;Quest[]

Shina Ninomiya first hears about Martyrs from Rook the merchant, he explains one year prior, a terrifying beast known as Heaven's Messenger razed the world, until its body spontaneously shattered. The survivors deemed it a miracle from the heavens and continued with their lives until the "Mass Consternation" several months later. Inexplicable events, such as people evaporating and mass suicides, plagued the land thanks to mysterious objects called the Entoma; Rook points out that Shina's spider legs are one such object. Rook refers to the casualties as martyrs, "suffering for the sake of avoiding retribution"; since they are believed to be possessing monsters, those monsters are also called Martyrs.

In Chapter 10 after the real world and World's Odyssey collide and become one, several Martyrs escape into the real world and chase after and kill humans. In the Shina ending it is said Martyrs still roam the real world, but are more like stray animals rather than vicious beasts.

Death Ends[]

  • The Body Electric: If you somehow lose the first battle against Martyrs you'll trigger a Death End where it's described that the Martyrs feast upon Shina's body.

Death end re;Quest 2[]

Despite several enemies using the exact same models as Martyrs, they are referred to as ''Shadow Matter'' or simply just ''Monsters'' instead.
