Odyssia

Shina Ninomiya using a glowing circle to catapult herself around Odyssia.

Mystical Sky Capital, Odyssia also referred to as simply ''Odyssia'' is the final area in Death end re;Quest that the party visits in Chapter 10, Chapter 11 also takes place in Odyssia. The track that plays here is Odyssia, Forsaken, which is also Ripuka's battle theme.

Mystical Sky Capital, Odyssia[]

Odyssia is a location mentioned throughout the game by Shina Ninomiya, she wanted to travel there since she first set out. Initially when the party reaches Sanatheus Temple they notice damaged Terminal Stones and realise they have to get a Terminal Stone from somewhere else, they travel to Heartis Palace and Rizaria Forest with no luck until they set out to Godot Ruins which upon which they successfully find one, however the Terminal Stone gets snatched away by the Infernal Wyrm and flies away to Landor Cave, after deating the Infernal Wyrm you retrieve the Terminal Stone and travel back to Sanatheus Temple.

You travel here shortly after defeating the Entoma Queen Sariga and retrieving the Terminal Stone from the Infernal Wyrm, using the Terminal at Sanatheus Temple to travel up to Odyssia. In Odyssia there are alot of high level enemies and glowing circles which let you travel from island to island, later on in the dungeon you'll encounter the Entoma Queen ''Rafid''. Defeating Rafid triggers a scene and gives you access to summon Rafid in battle. Unlike most Entoma Queens you do not get another Code Jack or Battle Jack from defeating Rafid. Later Celica Clayton draws her sword torward the party. She reveals that she had already reached Odyssia before meeting the party - hence the damaged Terminal Stones that hindered the party - and found nothing but monsters. Figuring that the "real" Odyssia was somewhere even further beyond, she tried her hardest to search for more, breaking her ribs in the process, until she managed to pierce the game's boundaries and end up in a black void. The thought of the legend of Odyssia being a lie caused her despair to overload, threatening to glitch her out before she met Victor Tailman. Claiming to be God, Victor instructed Celica to capture Shina Ninomiya, promising to make World's Odyssey real in exchange.

Upon recalling these events, Celica proceeds to glitch out and fight the party. As the party subdues her, memories of another world flood her mind.

She takes her lost despair from her buggy, and appears to be ready to continue the journey, but Victor reveals that he has taken the Mr. Enigma avatar from Arata Mizunashi. He hijacks Celica's personality, causing her to become a mindless killer, resulting in another battle; the brainwashed Celica proceeds to end the lives of Al Astra, Lily Hopes, and Lucil Filarete. Right as Celica prepares to kill Clea Glaive, Clea reveals that she knows the emotion that her own buggy is suppressing and, tapping into her suppressed courage, sacrifices herself to eliminate Celica.

It is revealed, however, that everyone survived the encounter and were rescued by Ending Engage. Chloe joins Arata and the other members of the party in subduing Iris. One campfire scene in Chapter 11 has Celica feeling remorse for what she did to the other party members, but Al convinces her to stay.

At the end of Chapter 10 you'll face off with Heaven's Messenger commanded by Victor, defeating Heaven's Messenger triggers a scene, gives you the Genre: Action x1 Battle Jack and concludes Chapter 10.

Death Ends[]

  • Perfect Ending: If you lose to Heaven's Messenger you'll trigger a Death End where Shina accepts her fate as she passes away

Mystical Sky Capital, Odyssia (Redux)[]

You'll be put back into Odyssia at the start of Chapter 11, after traveling Odyssia for a while you'll encounter Ripuka who has been waiting for the party, where she stands in the way of getting to Iris. Arata Mizunashi notes that she is different than the other Ludens; Ripuka concurs, stating that she never saw the others as allies and that her urge to kill directly contradicts carrying out Iris' wishes. Despite it being pointed out that this would technically put them on the same side, she battles the party anyway, because there's someone she wants to kill "really badly". After a battle in which the party again fails to damage Ripuka in any meaningful way, Ripuka distorts reality and angrily calls out the God of Death. Glaring into the game's camera, she admonishes the God of Death for standing proud as if they aren't involved - confusing Arata, as he was under the impression that the Ludens were referring to him as the God of Death. With a scream of "TAKE YOUR EYES OFF OF MEEE!", she swings her sword as the camera goes black.

If the conditions to continue with the game have been met, Arata finally puts together the identity of the God of Death and turns to the player of Death end re;Quest for help. If the player agrees to help, the party is given a boost in strength, and challenges Ripuka yet again. Ripuka is finally defeated, shouting in desperation that she has to kill in order to exist. She tries a sneak attack on Shina Ninomiya who is teleported out of the way at the last second by Arata, resulting in Ripuka being impaled by her own sword.

However, if you do not help Arata, it'll trigger the Bad Ending, which is also achieved by not having met the conditions for the Good Ending.

The party reaches Iris, fighting through her many forms and glitched HP before finally subduing her. Iris appears as her normal self for a brief moment before dying. The Ludens present Arata with a piece of code that allows him to "degrade" his world, essentially resetting things. Alice notes that Arata has tried countless times to successfully fix things, and used the Reality Objects to lead himself in the right direction. Unlike Arata's version, this degrade code allows him to retain his memories.

Arata notes that all of the party members spent time with Iris at some point (likely referring to the events of End Quest) before embarking on this journey with Shina. They return to the House of Beginning, with Shina noting that this was the house that she and Iris built together. As everyone prepares for Arata to degrade his world, he thanks the God of Death and suggests that maybe should be called the King of Resurrection instead.

One of seven (or eight, if the Ripuka DLC has been purchased) character endings then plays, which also unlocks New Game+.
