Sayaka Hiwatari (火渡さや香 Hiwatari Sayaka) is the female Luden protagonist of Death end re;Quest: Code Z. She is the debugger of End to Odyssey and currently lives with her director Shina Ninomiya.

Abilities

Vanquish Style

Unlike regular adepts who have ''Glitch Mode'', Sayaka can make use of her unique state''Vanquish Style''.

When the ''Vanquish Point Gauge (VP Gauge)'' at the top of the screen reaches MAX, Sayaka will be able to transform into the powerful ''Vanquish Style''. While in Vanquish Style, not only will her attack power greatly increase, but, all status ailments are disabled. Also, even if you receive damage that reduces your HP to 0, you can still stand once. When you activate Vanquish Style, your VP gauge will begin to decrease, and when it reaches 0, your transformation will be canceled. The timing at which you activate your transformation is also an important point.

Reason

As your rationality value decreases, the information displayed on the minimap will be gradually limited. Traps, items, stairs and enemies that you would have found will no longer be displayed, and your field of vision will become narrower. Decrease in value is a factor that brings you closer to death.

When rationality falls below 20%, ''self-harm'' occurs, in which Sayaka injures herself. The lower the rationality, the higher the incidence of self-harm, and it is even possible to die from self-injury

Since your rationality can be recovered using the special item ''Ether Code,'' knowing when to use limited items is an important key to survival in the dungeon.

Appearance

Sayaka has long pink hair tied into a large ponytail with a red and black hair ribbon. She has purple-blue gradient eyes.

Outside of the Strain Area, Sayaka wears a jacket that is unzipped at the bottom and top, but still zipped in the middle. The jacket is black with red on the inside, and has two white lines running along the arms, the pocket openings on the front of the jacket are colored white as well. Underneath she wears a plain white shirt with low cut collar. She wears a black plain collar around her neck. She wears low wasited cut off blue shorts with a black belt with a buckle shaped like two diamonds. She wears white strap and lace sneakers with red soles and strap. On her left leg, she wears a black crew sock, with some sort of strap on her thigh that is not attached to anything. On her right leg she wears a black stocking with a red line just below the top of the stocking, with a marking resembling the hourglass mark that Redback spiders have.

When inside the Strain Area, Sayaka's jacket is fully unzipped and opened. Her shirt is shown to be without the left breast, but she wears a black undershirt that has a white checkerboard pattern. She holds a sword in her right hand, and on her left is a coil floating around her arm coming from her Buggy. She also has 4 short red spider legs on her back waist.

When in Vanquish Style, Sayaka's hair becomes a very light pink, her eyes turn red, her skin turns pale white, and her hair tie changes to a smaller version of the headband Ripuka wears. Her general physical appearance is very reminiscent of Ripuka herself as whole. Sayaka's clothes change to a red dress with a black with white accent overlay of sorts. The red dress underneath is sleeveless, and runs through the middle of and around her chest. The overlay is mostly black but with white edges that covers most of the lower dress and extend halfway up her breasts, and are secured with straps to the red part of the dress.. The overlay also has one white part that bears the Iris Corporation name and logo. Sayaka also wears forearm sleeves that have the same color scene and general design of her dress. Her left sleeve is red underneath with bronze accents, with a black and white edge part that extends further out from her arm, and her left hand is seemingly gloved. Her right sleeve has a red fabric part under what appears to be armor for her arm that is black with bronze, and with a large spike coming from the elbow section. In her right hand she holds a very large curved sword that is black and red following a zigzag type of pattern, the cutting edge itself is white with a very pronounced serrated pattern. From under her dress come out 8 very large black and red spider legs similar to the ones on Shina's World's Odyssey avatar as seen in Death end re;Quest. Her shoes and socks turn into boots, her left boot now goes up to just below her knee and is black with red lines and soles, while her right boot goes up to her thigh, it is colored black with a large red v shaped opening at the front of where the boot ends and a red sole, there are also small spikes coming out from the boot itself

History

Before working at Iris Corporation she remained unemployed for a long time and she simply followed the rules and fought. She is believed to be the Luden ''Ripuka'' that got taken to the Strain Area, where she then awakened to her sense of self due to someones intervention (Possibly Arata Mizunashi, similarly to the Ripuka ending in her DLC) After she got awakened and took on the role as Sayaka Hiwatari she took up residence with Shina who grew a big liking to her. Due to her unemployment Shina decided to invite Sayaka to her workplace, a game company. She is very happy about her working life. Her current position is to debug a new game called ''End to Odyssey''

She's a bit of an otaku, and seems to love play-testing the game she's involved with, which makes it all worth it for her. While continuing to debug their own products, they encounter a ''mysterious phenomenon'' that distorts the common sense of the world, and they end up fighting a threat that aims for the entire world.

Etymology

• Shina Ninomiya named Sayaka to sound similar to Arata Mizunashi, Sayaka's surname Hiwatari stems from watari meaning ''crossing'', the name Sayaka was chosen to sound similar to Arata.
